Kajol on Saif and Ibrahim: Kajol is no stranger to working with different generations of Bollywood stars. But few experiences, she says, compare to sharing screen space with both a father and his son.

In a recent interview with ‘Bollywood Hungama’, Kajol spoke candidly about her experience working with Saif Ali Khan and his son Ibrahim Ali Khan.

“The camera absolutely loves both of them,” she said. “They have that natural screen presence, the kind of X-factor you can’t manufacture.”

Kajol described Saif as someone who carries what she called “main character energy”; charismatic, effortlessly taking up space on set.

“He knows exactly when to crack a joke, when to be serious, and how to switch it all on the moment the camera rolls,” she added.

Ibrahim, though, is carving his own path. Kajol observed a quiet determination in the young actor. “He was more reserved, very much in his own zone. I think he was consciously staying in character, not wanting to break that mood during the shoot.”

Kajol and Saif’s on-screen journey has spanned decades. They first appeared together in ‘Yeh Dillagi’ back in 1994, alongside Akshay Kumar, where their romantic track was a hit with the audience. This was followed by their pairing in the crime drama ‘Bambai Ka Babu’ (1996), and then in the reincarnation-themed romance ‘Hameshaa’ (1997).

More than twenty years later, they teamed up again for the historical epic ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ in 2020.

Now, the baton seems to be passing to the next generation. Ibrahim Ali Khan is stepping into the limelight with his upcoming debut in ‘Sarzameen’, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film, which promises to be a layered drama, features Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran in pivotal roles alongside Ibrahim, who is said to be portraying a complex, emotionally charged character.

As for Saif, he was last seen in Netflix’s ‘Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins’, where he starred opposite Jaideep Ahlawat in a slick crime thriller.
